My training is extensive and ongoing. It includes achieving my CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Childminding Practice in June 2003. I complete a 12 hour training course in Paediatric First Aid every 3 years. I also complete courses in Child Protection, Food Hygiene and Health & Safety every 3 years. I attend training offered to support the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ and ‘Every Child Matters’. I also attend courses on Equal Opportunities, Inclusion, Diversity and Partnership Working. I have attended many other training courses, workshops, support groups and information sessions and am committed to keeping abreast of relevant training in the future. This is all taken on outside my working hours.

I am a member of the National Childminding Association (NCMA). My Public Liability Insurance Cover is provided by NCMA/ Royal Sun Alliance, and my car is insured for use with my childminding business. My membership of the Bradford Childminding Network began in October 2000 following their assessment of my service using ‘NCMA Children Come First’ Quality Charter. This means that I am ‘Quality Assured’. I receive regular monitoring and support visits from the Network. My membership also provides me with valuable training opportunities and access to resources. I am registered with the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted). I am pleased to have received a good Ofsted Inspection Report of the quality and standard of my service, with very positive feedback. My home is “smoke Free” and all members of my home are CRB checked.
